Knit n'Natter

The members of the Knit n’ Natter Club meet on the 1st, 3rd, and where there is a 5th Wednesday of the month, 2 - 3:30pm in the Church Room.

We all love knitting and spend our afternoon either working on our personal garments or producing articles for the many charities we support.  The fee of £1 per meeting meets the cost of tea and biscuits and to purchase wool.

Over the past few years we have made numerous garments for a number of charities, including the Neo-Natal Baby Unit, Children of Honduras, and Supporting Children in Nepal.  We have made many small ‘Fish and Chip’ jumpers for babies in Africa.  These garments are so called as Mothers were taking their new-born babies home, wrapped in newspaper.  We are now knitting larger T-shaped jumpers for older children.  These are packed in the Aquaboxes that are sent to many places in need.  We have also knitted hats and gloves for Padley and made small knitted animals for the Children’s Club at St Nicks.  We are always pleased to accept donations of any spare wool, Double Knitting or 4-ply, which we can use for our many projects.

We are a very friendly club, and as its name suggests, we also do a lot of ‘nattering’ and laughing over a cup of tea and biscuits.  If you enjoy knitting or crocheting, then come along and spend an afternoon with us.  We look forward to meeting you.
